What Role Do Our Apprentices Play In The Business
Our apprentices form an integral part of our succession planning; Alexander Battery Technologies are ensuring that the workforce of today has the critical skills for tomorrow. Our latest intake of apprentices took our total in the business to 8 who are learning industry critical skills across all parts of the business. In September an existing member of staff started their Degree apprenticeship at Teesside University, an option that is available to all of our staff who wish to undertake education to reach their maximum potential. All of our apprentices spend one day a week off-site learning theoretical skills, with the remaining four being spent putting their newly learnt skills into practice at the company, contributing their ideas and working hands-on with projects and the day-to-day running of the business.
This scheme will involve an intake of apprentices or similarly-sponsored student programs every year with a vision that Alexander Battery Technologies has a steady flow of employees growing skills in-line with the growth in the company. The apprentices are spread across different sections of the business; Human Resources, Production Engineering, Supply chain and Quality who have all embraced their roles within the organisation and are showing outstanding qualities.
Amy Jefferson our HR Manager commented;
