In 2019 when Alexander Battery Technologies were only operating from Doxford Drive Unit 4, we started to seek a change in location as part of our desire for continuous improvement. The business looked in detail at the option of expanding into Doxford Drive Unit 2, the lease was agreed and 9 months later in January 2020 we moved into our updated state-of-the-art facility, our main production site. The site was developed to ensure a facility that was clean, orderly and capable of delivering reliable manufacturing for battery packs. With the re-design, the business was able to fit 13 production lines, three labs, a specialised and dedicated training facility, meeting rooms and an area big enough to accommodate an additional 30 members of staff. Available capacity now exceeds 100,000 handheld-sized battery packs per month comfortably, with the potential for more by implementing additional shifts.
