The commercial team from Alexander Battery Technologies (ABT) represented the company for the second time at Electronica, the world’s leading trade fair and conference for electronics. The team were tasked with showcasing the company’s capabilities as a global custom battery pack manufacturer. The exhibition, which took place in Munich’s famous Messe exhibition hall, welcomed around 70,000 visitors between November 12th and 15th.

ABT made its debut at Electronica in 2022, with the 2024 edition highlighting the remarkable progress the business has achieved since then. This became apparent with the number of visitors recognising the brand before making their way onto their stand, where they had the chance to join their team of battery experts with representatives from sales, marketing, and senior management. The exhibition team highlighted ABT’s significantly enhanced manufacturing capabilities, such as the addition of a semi-automated laser welder and the expansion of their manufacturing footprint with the opening of the Battery Technology Centre at their Peterlee headquarters.

Located in Hall A4, the power suppliers’ hub, the stand showcased an impressive range of applications powered by custom battery packs. The highlight for many visitors was the electric motorbike supplied by Maeving, featuring a 14S9P battery pack that demonstrated ABT’s expertise in delivering high-quality e-mobility battery packs. Another standout was the dual battery pack system for a military UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle), each producing a nominal voltage of 100.8 VDC. These innovative solutions provided returning visitors with a clear demonstration of ABT’s significant advancements in manufacturing capabilities since their debut at the show in 2022.

Driving Interest Across Key Industries at Electronica

The stand was consistently busy over the 4-day show, with highly varied battery enquiries covering various industries and battery requirements. Among these, the medical, e-mobility, and robotics sectors stood out, receiving a significantly higher volume of enquiries than others. The team left the show feeling excited by the number of enquiries received and the volume and power requirements of the packs within those enquiries.

When not on the stand, the team explored the fairgrounds to gain valuable insights into the future of battery technology. The exhibition halls featured a broad spectrum of the battery supply chain, including semiconductors, PCBs, components, embedded sensors, and more. These walkthroughs offered the team an early glimpse of emerging components and technologies destined to become standard in future battery packs. This knowledge enables ABT to proactively plan the integration of these innovations into upcoming designs, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of battery technology.

The team had a fantastic time at Electronica, achieving many of the targets they’d set out for the show. To start your customer journey with ABT, talk to their battery experts now to discuss the next steps of your battery project.
