Our Senior Business Development Manager David Kaminski recently visited BOOT 2025, the world’s largest yacht and water sports show, at the Dusseldorf Arena by the Rhine. The show, which lasted eight days, brought together over 200,000 visitors from 120 countries and more than 1,500 exhibitors across 16 halls. It showcased the latest maritime industry innovations.

With electrification in the maritime industry gaining more attention than ever, BOOT 2025 provided David, and by extension ABT, valuable insights into the challenges OEMs face when developing electric applications. Exhibitors came from a wide variety of OEMs across the industry, producing a variety of products. From shipbuilders and yacht manufacturers to the leisure side of the industry, were in attendance.

During the show, David discussed the challenges manufacturers of both large and small applications faced within the industry. The most significant challenge for them was finding a battery that could provide their application with a high range due to insufficient charging infrastructure at many harbours. He found that factors such as system design and the robustness of the custom battery pack are extremely important to OEMs in battery pack design.

David also found OEMs’ sustainability goals have contributed to this shift towards electrification, which has been made possible by technical innovations in the battery world. He expects that off-electric boats, which are already established inshore, will begin to become commonplace once battery technology has caught up with OEMs’ technical demands.

David’s visit to BOOT 2025 provided valuable insights into the latest maritime advancements, reinforcing Alexander Battery Technologies’ role in the industry’s electrified future. Want to explore how we can support your maritime project? Contact us to book an initial discussion.
