Step inside Alexander Battery Technologies’ newly updated Production Centre through our enhanced interactive 3D tour. Featuring new video content, updated imagery and enhanced interactive tags, the experience provides a detailed look at how battery packs are manufactured within our UK facility.
The tour has been refreshed to showcase the latest developments across the production floor, giving visitors greater insight into the technology, processes and people behind our manufacturing operation. Interactive highlights explain how we deliver full product traceability underpinned by our core IFS ERP system, a major investment that serves as the digital foundation for our processes and data records. Together with these digital capabilities, the tour demonstrates how we adapt production to meet customer requirements and maintain consistent quality throughout every stage of manufacture.
One of the most significant physical additions to the facility is our EV Flex laser welding system, installed in 2024. As part of our continued investment in advanced battery manufacturing, the machine delivers precise, repeatable laser welds across a range of battery cell formats, supporting higher production efficiency and consistent build quality. The updated tour includes a closer look at this technology and its role within our manufacturing process.
Back in 2022, we turned our attention back to Unit 4, our original building, now named our Battery Technology Centre. This renovation allowed us to bring the building up to standard of our main production site and expand our capabilities. Today, we’re fully up and running within the facilities, which were directly inspired by our customers’ desire to produce bigger batteries (including high-voltage products) and access more specialised lab spaces.
To meet these demands, the site now features 12 dedicated lab spaces alongside two large battery development areas. Upstairs, the additional office space comfortably accommodates up to 60 team members, complete with extra meeting rooms and break-out areas. We also have a large auditorium, giving us the capacity to host both internal and external events for up to 120 people.
