Quality Technician
Salary: £24,000 – £26,000
Location: Peterlee, County Durham, UK
Overall purpose
The Quality Technician’s main role is to ensure the day-to-day quality of manufactured product and its compliance to regulatory and customer standards. There is a secondary requirement to maximise the value add from the quality function by reducing risk to product quality.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards.
- Ensure all daily quality inspection is done to a high standard including measurement to customer specifications and SPQP.
- Work with the production team onsite to provide guidance and mentorship for quality related issues as appropriate.
- Responsible for the Quality role in the control of non-conforming product including administration of the company CPAR process as required and working with CPAR owners to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are completed.
- Manage the product FMEA’s and work with key stakeholders to reduce the risk to product (RPN) number.
- Responsible for the creation of CofC’s and ensuring their accuracy and timeliness
- Responsible for environmental monitoring and overseeing resolution of issues.
- Undertake continuous improvement activities as required, including A3 problem solving and Six Sigma Yellow Belt projects as required.
- Perform D2D customer inspections with customer in a professional manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Quality role with experience within electronics highly desirable.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher.
- Awareness of ISO 9001 and quality standards.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings to correctly perform basic measurements with various hand tools and machinery.
- Knowledge of product FMEA beneficial
- Excellent communication and liaison skills.
- Ability to provide guidance to improve quality and process efficiency of supplied parts.
- Ability to work professionally with production team including operators and supervision on quality matters.
- Reliable and trustworthy in following the guidelines of the ISO9001 QMS.

- Challenge any member of staff or visitor professionally when H&S controls are not being adhered
